  •   Disciplinary committee of a professional body e.g. GMC, GDC and the like
  •   Health authority or primary care trust
  •   Health board or primary care trust
  •   Service complaint proceedings or NHS tribunal
  •   Inquest proceedings or fatal accident enquiry
  • Vicarious liability - included to protect you against claims brought against you due to the actions or omissions of an assistant, receptionist, or nurse employed or engaged by you and acting under your instruction
  • Legal counselling service - 24 hour helpline to provide personal support in confidence whenever required
  • Supplementary legal expenses insurance - to protect against the cost of defending criminal prosecutions brought against you as a result of your medical practice

Policy excess

  • From £0 depending on the policy and level of indemnity

Key exclusions

  • Claims or complaints which arise from treatment undertaken under NHS Trust Indemnity or its equivalent, or where indemnity is provided by an employer or under contract
  • Claims or circumstances which you already know about when you take out cover with us
  • Claims that arise from any circumstance about which you have previously notified a defence body or insurer
  • Criminal acts
